The twelve minute run into TownGate

TownGate is Specific Plan 200, and the City zoning map draws it as Day Street east to Frederick Street, Cottonwood and Dracaea north to State Route 60. Inside that box, 41 percent of the land is zoned General Commercial and only 35 percent is suburban residential, with roughly 11 percent more in multi-family. That is the reverse of every other neighborhood we deliver to. The last few minutes of the drive are TownGate Center, TownGate Plaza, TownGate Square, TownGate Promenade, TownGate Crossing, The Quarter and Canyon Springs Plaza, all hanging off the 60 at Day Street and Frederick Street, with the Moreno Valley Mall at 22500 Town Circle behind them. Then the houses start. We come off the freeway on whichever side your address sits, Day or Frederick, and we are usually unloading inside twelve minutes of leaving. Bounce house space in a TownGate back yard

A standard unit needs roughly 15 by 15 feet of flat ground, three to five feet of clearance on every side, and a standard outlet within 100 feet. The housing in TownGate is late 1980s and 1990s: compact detached tract homes, plus a real share of condos, townhomes and apartments between Elsworth Street and Frederick Street. On the detached streets a 15 by 15 unit fits. On the attached product it is a squeeze, and those yards are often shadowed by a two storey wall next door, so the usable flat rectangle is smaller than the yard looks from the slider. We would rather say that on this page than work it out in your driveway. Measure the flat part, not the fence line. If it comes in under 15 by 15, tell us on the phone, because sometimes the answer is a smaller unit and sometimes the answer is the park.

The two TownGate parks and their three shelters

TownGate has two parks and three bookable shelters between them, and they are not interchangeable. TownGate Memorial Park on Elsworth Street is the one with restrooms, a playground, barbecues and a multi purpose trailhead, but its only shelter, number 37, is a small rated at 60. TownGate II Park on Arbor Park Lane holds the bigger one, shelter 49, a medium rated at 120, with shelter 50 beside it at 60. TownGate II also shares an address with the TownGate Community Center, an indoor rental facility, which makes it the only place in Moreno Valley where a reservable medium shelter and an indoor room sit at the same street number. The trade is amenities. The City park data does not list restrooms or a playground at TownGate II the way it does at Memorial, so plan for that.

The 90 day permit TownGate park bookings need

Before you build a party around a park date, read the City rule. Moreno Valley requires a Community Event Permit for a park event expecting 100 or more people, or for one that includes jumpers or inflatables, amplified sound, a stage, or food and craft vendors. The application is due at least 90 days before the event date, and the City states no exceptions. Shelter 49 at TownGate II is rated to 120, so booking it to capacity clears the attendance line on its own, and the inflatable clause catches you whatever your headcount. The City special event application also asks whether you are using one of its approved inflatable companies. Ask us where we stand on that list before you commit to a park date. You will get a straight answer either way, and ninety days is not a deadline anyone can make up later.

What a TownGate bounce house rental costs

Rentals start at $125, and that covers delivery, setup, anchoring and takedown. You do not lift anything and you do not return anything. There is no per child charge, ever. Fourteen kids and thirty kids pay the same, because the rental is priced on the unit and the hours, not on the guest list. On grass we drive stakes into the lawn and anchor the corners. On concrete we weight the unit with sandbags, and in TownGate that second case comes up more often than it does elsewhere in the city, because so many of the attached homes give you a patio and a strip of lawn rather than a lawn. Tell us which surface you have and we load for it. If the forecast turns genuinely unsafe we will tell you rather than set up and hope, and we will work with you on the date. Birthday party packages are quoted the same way, against your date.

Shirts, food, and the neighborhoods either side

Two things get asked after the booking. We print custom apparel, so the birthday shirt and the matching cousin shirts come out of the same phone call as the bounce house. Food we do not do. We refer you to Garcia's Catering, a separate business that bills you directly, and we neither cook nor sell food ourselves.
